Little Montessori is an in-home half-day preschool,
pre-k, and kindergarten. A warm, cozy, academic environment.
The term Montessori comes from the famous educator Maria Montessori. Dr. Montessori believed the
goal of early childhood education was to help the child develop a love and enthusiasm for learning. She believed the
most important period was "...the period from birth to age six." The classroom provides the enriching
and stimulating environment a child needs to develop his or her full potential during the early years in a child's life.
Through many observations Maria Montessori found that children learn best in a home-like setting, filled with developmentally
appropriate materials that provide experiences contributing to the growth of self-motivated, independent learners.
The primary goal of Little Montessori is to help each child reach full potential in all
areas of life. This is known as the "whole child" approach. Activities promote the development
of social skills, emotional growth, and physical coordination as well as cognitive preparation. The Montessori
materials, and curriculum, allows the child to experience a joy of learning and development of self-esteem.
